An attempted car theft fails, so the would-be thief is pursued, tackled and then arrested.

Greg Ross, CBC reporter in Brampton, reports a car burglary attempt. Three masked thieves broke into an apartment and stole keys for a vehicle. Two men run away. Three men are involved. The first two flee. The family tackles him after he flees and holds him until the police arrive.

A Brampton family stopped a car thief in its tracks early on Friday, according to police.

Peel police were called to an incident near Castlemore Road, Goreway Drive at around 2:30 in the morning.

According to police, three men entered a home, stole keys for a vehicle, then fled. One of the men with the keys tried to steal a vehicle in the driveway.

He was chased down the road by the residents, who tackled him and held him in place until police officers arrived.

Gurbaj Singhera (18), a member of the family, says auto thefts can put people’s lives in danger and that police must do more to prevent them.

Sanghera, speaking to CBC Toronto in Toronto, said: “I hope that no one else has to suffer this.” Take precautions and you must always be cautious.

Sanghera was downstairs when he heard a loud noise. Three masked men were inside. He claimed to have frozen before the three men started running.

He had a collection of keys from a Faraday Box that was meant to stop keyfob signal transmissions.

“I’m screaming and hoping my father and brother will hear me.” They do. “He said.

A man is trying to get in an Audi while two other men flee. Sanghera was stopped by his brother using a second set of key. The vehicle had a lock that prevented theft. He drove away from the scene, then got back into his car.

He started to walk away after getting out.

Sanghera stated, “He is aware that he does not understand it. He is trying to get away. “.

Sanghera and his brothers chased down the suspect and held him in place until the police arrived.

Const. Sarah Patten said that between August 20,22 and 2023, four vehicles had been stolen in the same area.

Toronto 25 year old man was charged with one count of breaking-in, and another count of theft of over $5,000.
