Tammy Green and her family have lived in Top Valley, Nottingham City Home for the past two years. Her four children include a daughter who is five months old.
The full-time mom said that when she moved in to her Top Valley home, there was “a massive leak” which “took us weeks and weeks to repair.” She has also had to fix a large leak that started in the bedroom of her daughter. A second leak occurred on July 24, in her bedroom which she shares her infant with.
She said, “I’ve got a leak in my roof that is leaking water above the bed of my 5-month-old.” What happens if my roof leaked onto the bed of my five-month-old baby one night? “?
Tammy is a resident of Nottingham City Council and has complained about leaks for many years. However, the problem gets worse as more rain falls.
After an emergency repairperson was dispatched by the Council on Monday 24th July, Tammy learned that it would take between 24 and 48 hours for a roofer to be able to assess her property.
The ceiling and wallpaper are both peeling. My autistic child had to sleep in my bedroom, and it’s now the boys room.
She said, “We can’t even open the window in the girls’ room when it’s hot.
We are well aware of Ms Green’s problems and are trying to work with her on a solution. A spokesperson for Nottingham City Council said that the council was aware of Ms Green’s problems and is working to resolve them with her.
We began our remedial work Monday with rendering repairs and we continued today to repair the roof. We are still trying to gain access to the house so we can evaluate the internal water damage. The window work has been added to the programme and we’ll be in touch with Ms Green shortly about it.”
