Sarina Weigman’s Lionesses are the first English women’s team to have reached a World Cup Final since 1966 after a convincing 3-1 victory over Australia.

Hollie Bonne and Jeremy Armstrong, both in Sydney, report that England supporters partied as if it were 1966 after their Lionesses won Australia on home soil to reach the World Cup finale.

Sarina Wiegman and the team of Ella Toone scored three goals, Lauren Hemp added another and Alessia russo completed their historic victory, which silenced approximately 70,000 Australians.

After the final whistle, as Rachel Daly leaped into Jill Scott’s arms, who had been commentating at the end of the game, there were scenes of celebration. The players were jigging and singing as England captain Millie Bright hoisted Sarina high above their heads while fans and family applauded.

Bright’s parents, Nicola & Steven, who travelled to the other side of the world for her 30th birthday, were seen waving at Bright.

The whole family is here. Millie, her two sisters, as well as my three grandson all arrived. It’s a source of pride to have them as your own children. Nicola of Sheffield spoke.

It was like a fairytale, said Sherry as she described the Lionesses’ second final appearance in two years after their Euro 2022 win. After the Euro 2022 final, you won’t really be able reflect on what they achieved. Sarina explained.

Millions of people will watch the early Sunday morning match, which is our first Senior World Cup Final since 1966.

Sarina said, “I’m so proud of my team. I am thrilled that we won and are celebrating today before the next round.” Sarina.

She stated: “It is a great feeling to be in the Final.” Although I have been to the finals of both tournaments in recent years, you never take things for granted. “.

The final is hard, and many good teams lost. It’s a special moment and I feel it too.

Lauren, 23 said, “What a wonderful feeling.” It’s Sunday and I will be back again. Every player dreams of playing in a World Cup final.”

Sarina remarked: “We were not going to let this go.” The Lioness supporters promised to continue dancing until dawn.

Julian Pottle was dressed in fancy clothes with Helen and Summer, his daughter Charlie and 16-year-old Charlie.

Julian said, “We have to get tickets now for the final.” “I want my daughter to wear her England shirt, but the school wants her to wear an Australia one.”

Helen joked: “We kept on singing when the Aussie fans fell quiet.”

Imogen, a Manchester-based accountant, told her two daughters, Phoebe (16) and Phoebe (19), that she couldn’t believe England would play in the World Cup Final.

It is a great honor to have Australian fans. We are so proud of our Aussie fans.

Stuart Fox (38), a London-born project manager, now living in Sydney said that it was an amazing first goal. Top bins for England I’ve lived in Australia 18 years and never supported Australia.

Antony Pinshaw (36), a Matildas’ fan, added that “this tournament was amazing for Australia. But England dominated the competition and they were unable to keep up.”

Tony Gustavsson, Australia’s manager, expressed his appreciation for England’s excellent performance. Sarina, the coach of England’s world-class team said that they played against a “world class” squad. “This is a fantastic start for Australia, and women’s footbal. This isn’t a conclusion.”

Sarah, who is a walking footballer from Taunton, Somerset and has been in Australia since August 1, said “We’ve got tickets for the Final.” The quarter-final match between Australia and France was watched in an Irish pub in Brisbane with a lot of Aussies.

Julia Tibbs is a 54-year-old painter/decorator who was part of the walking soccer team. She said: “The Great Barrier Reef’s colours were incredible.” “The World Cup is the reason we came to Australia, so it was important to us to get as much out of our trip.” While snorkeling, we came across a large fish known as Wally (Maori Worasse).

Five years back, I told myself I would enjoy life. It has certainly been part of this promise.”

“If I had 16 more years, I would have moved to Australia. The kangaroos were very close in Brisbane, and I got kissed by the Koala. The trip was wonderful.” Alan, a walking football player for England’s over 75 team, also said, “I would have moved here 16 years earlier.”

Nottingham Girls’ High School’s PE teacher was caught in a downpour on Sydney’s Darling Harbour while speeding around the harbour. But she hasn’t missed England’s World Cup bid.
